Professor Angela Washko‘s work “And They Wonder Why We’re Romantics” is part of the screening program “Notre âme, notre dame, notre terre” at La MÉCA in Bordeaux France, January 5 through March 1.

The exhibition pays tribute to the committed work and ultra-flowery writing of Jean Genet. Washko’s “And They Wonder Why We’re Romantics” is an attempt to understand representations of flora in film, video games, advertising, anime, and television that results in her quest to embody and enact their communicated feminine affect in physical space.
