Professor Johannes DeYoung, in collaboration with HP and colleagues from the School of Computer Science, announced a new research partnership in machine learning at the 2019 EDUCAUSE Annual Conference in Chicago, IL on October 16.
The applied research partnership builds upon the success of DeYoung’s previous work with HP as Principal Investigator of Yale University’s Blended Reality Program from 2017–2018. DeYoung’s current work with HP explores the intersections of art and machine learning, looking to art-historical paradigms as models for creative practice, innovation, and humane application of data science. In panel discussion with Gus Scmedlen, Vice President of Worldwide Education at HP, DeYoung and School of Computer Science colleagues Justin Khim and Liam Li discussed applications for data science technology in next-gen teaching, research, and learning workflows.
