MFA Candidate Steve Alexis curated the exhibition “Pip. Pit. Pith.” for the Sweetwater Center for the Art’s Mavuno Festival, a celebration of African American creativity, experience, and talent in Pittsburgh region and beyond. The exhibition includes Petra Floyd MFA ’22, along with Dominick McDuffie, Zeal Eva, Darrin Milliner, and Evangeline Mensah-Agyekum and is on view September 16 through October 28.
The exhibition pushes past initial labels and promotes the uniqueness of the artist. That speaks to the idea of an essence of core. A depth beyond the label given.
