Benjamin Ogrodnik is a PhD candidate studying film and art history at the University of Pittsburgh. He researches experimental media arts and the institutionalization of the moving image, with a focus on Pittsburgh’s film community during the 1970s and 1980s. His scholarship has appeared in Film History, Afterimage, Film International, JUMP CUT, Feminist Media Histories, Synoptique, Contemporaneity, and more. He has curated film screenings at the LUX, the Birkbeck Institute of the Moving Image, the Andy Warhol Museum, Pittsburgh Filmmakers, and the Silver Eye Center for Photography. He is a programmer for the 2019 Three Rivers Film Festival.
