Michael NeumannSecond-Year MFA Candidate
Adaptation, and exploration are Michael Charles Neumann’s primary tools for intuitive investigation of natural phenomena, such as geology, cosmology, and evolutionary biology. His artistic research balances order and chaos through drawing, painting, interactive sculpture, found objects, analog technology and open source tools to construct poetry in visual language.
Before moving to Pittsburgh, Michael had worked as an artist in Los Angeles and Berlin. He has shown work at Kunstverein am Rosa-Luxembourg-Platz (Berlin), Serio Press (Los Angeles), Vast Space Projects (Las Vegas), and Autonomie Projects (Los Angeles). Michael has served as a faculty member in both public and private high school environments, as well as a guest lecturer at Art Division in Los Angeles.
