A visit to campus, though not required, is recommended to all applicants. The School of Art offers an information session and tour each weekday from 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Visitors gain a deeper understanding of the portfolio guidelines, review process, and degree programs in the information session, followed by a student-guided tour of the Art facilities. Visitors check in with the School of Art Main Office, located in room 300 of the College of Fine Arts. Tours are not offered during school breaks and university holidays.
Please register for the School of Art information session and tour by filling out this form. A one week advance notice for appointments is appreciated.
Undergraduate applicants may also tour the school if they choose an On-Campus Portfolio Review, and can stay with a student host during Turn Tartan Overnight. Admitted applicants are recommended to visit during Admitted Student Visit Days in the spring semester.
Campus tours, general information sessions, and admission counseling sessions, which provide a higher-level overview of the admission process and life at Carnegie Mellon University, are available through Undergraduate Admissions.
